PART 1: Reopening in Times of COVID: Foundational Considerations
This training offers guidance on how to safely reopen or adjust operations of family and group child care programs after Wisconsin's Safer at Home Order due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus on this session is foundational considerations, including: Prior to reopening basics; Regulations; Pre-Enrollment; Programs with Staff; Legal Considerations; and Essential Training. There will be time for Q&A as well!

This training offers guidance on how to safely reopen or adjust operations of family and group child care programs after Wisconsin's Safer at Home Order due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus on this session is safety and operational considerations, including: Cleaning; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Care with Children; Spacing; Outdoor; Meals; Emergency Plans. There will be time for Q&A as well!

Free Online Training: Active Early: A Wisconsin Guide for Improving Childhood Physical Activity
This training welcomes all early care and education professionals to explore researched-based practices and strategies designed to reduce obesity rates of children in Wisconsin. The Active Early Guide is designed to help early care and education professionals address childhood obesity by improving the physical activity environment in early care and education. The Active Early Guide contains valuable information to enhance the physical activity environment for early care and education programs. Embedded in this training are handouts, helpful tips and tools, and visual supports to enhance your interactive learning experience. Healthy Bites: A Wisconsin Guide for Improving Childhood Nutrition
The Healthy Bites on-line tutorial covers five primary priorities for improving child nutrition in your program: writing a nutrition policy, nutrition for infants and children, supporting healthy eating and planning healthy meals. This tutorial offers concepts and practical applications to enhance the nutrition quality of your early childhood education program, with the primary focus on setting nutrition program goals and implementing best nutrition practices relating to the quality of meals served, the nutrition environment and parent outreach. This tutorial will initiate a change in the way you think about nutrition in a child care setting. This is a Tier 2 training which will provide eight hours of Registry credit. Free Online Child Care Training: Business Practices Tutorial
A child care business training you can do on your own time.
This free, online training welcomes group directors and administrators as well as family child care providers to learn about the impact financial business practices have on improving program quality.
ABOUT THE TUTORIAL
While the information and practices in this tutorial are designed around YoungStar standards, they are appropriate for ALL early childhood programs who wish to increase their financial business practices. Participation in YoungStar is not a prerequisite to this tutorial.
We will review the 4 components related to finances in the Business & Professional Practices of YoungStar. We will offer a clear explanation of how you can create and review your budget and organize your record keeping, which may help you to increase your points. We will provide templates and resources to help you develop a budget, compare your budgeted amounts to what you actually spend and what you actually earn in income.
You can access the training at any time and do not need to complete it in one sitting.
REGISTRY CREDIT: 3 Hours
To receive Registry credit upon finishing the tutorial, you will be provided a link to complete a short evaluation. Once we receive your evaluation we will enter your name into the Registry roster and email you a certificate of completion. We cannot give Registry credit without the completed evaluation form.
